The Daring Way™ workshops
There are two workshops in the Daring Way™ curriculum – Daring Greatly™ and Rising Strong™.
Daring Greatly™
Daring Greatly™ is a two day workshop during which we explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living.
Rising Strong™
Rising Strong™ is a two day program that explores the simple physics of vulnerability – if we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. When we take risks in our lives, we will inevitably experience disappointments, hurts, failures and heartbreak. This program focuses on what it takes to get back up and provides the opportunity to build and practise resilience skills.
How do the Daring Way™ workshops help workplaces?
These workshops are fundamental to people’s wellbeing and developing self-awareness. The primary focus is on skills, tools and practices that transform the way we work, live, love, parent, and lead.
The Daring Way™ workshops help us understand how to support others, those we work with and care for, as well as ourselves. They are invaluable for people who have particularly emotionally demanding jobs, or who wish to better understand the people they serve and therefore improve service delivery.
Attending the Daring Greatly workshop was life changing for me. Sue and Julie delivered it with so much energy and their enthusiasm was infectious. I was glad to know that through Sue and Julie’s great insight and vision, Brené Brown’s work is making its way to social workers in Australia, where it is needed right now. Unfortunately, many of us are working in an environment that sees human vulnerability as a liability. During the workshop, I learned the opposite, that vulnerability is a strength not a weakness, and that being vulnerable builds connection. With this knowledge, backed by evidence, I decided to connect more deeply with others and accept that I am imperfect. Daring Greatly has been liberating for me!’ – Social Worker
The Dare to Lead™ workshop
The Dare to Lead™ workshop
Dare to Lead™ is a three day workshop for individuals, teams and organisations. It is based on Brené Brown’s most recent research and best selling book, in which Brené defines a leader as ‘anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people or processes and has the courage to develop that potential’. It is a courage building program based on research, designed to be facilitated by organisational development professionals.
The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ program focuses on developing these skills to help individuals, teams, and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership.
How does the Dare to Lead™ workshop help workplaces?
Leading, managing and working in teams requires brave work, tough conversations, and showing up with our whole hearts. Dare to Lead™ transforms workplaces, giving people the skills to nurture positive organisational and team cultures, foster connection with colleagues, navigate difficult conversations and strengthen their resilience and thrive.
Individuals who successfully complete the globally recognised, full 24-hour Dare to Lead™ program can add the official Dare to Lead Trained badge to their LinkedIn account.
Julie created a wonderful space and the opportunities for our team to have some really insightful discussions regarding leadership. We now have a common language to help us on our leadership journey. It also touched all of us in a very personal way too, cementing the connection between who we are and how we lead. – CEO of a NFP organisation
The Dare to Lead ™ workshops and Julie’s incredibly dedicated work in facilitating these have made a significant difference to both to myself and the team. I have seen a meaningful change in staff confidence, empathy and self-awareness because we now have the confidence to step into the arena and work better together. The Dare to Lead ™ workshop gave us the time, guidance and desire to acquire the tools to be clear communicators and courageous leaders. In being vulnerable, we are building trust building daily and I can now recognise how my values, my armour and my emotions show up at work. This really is a truly remarkable feat to have tackled, considering our difficult history. Our team is discernibly more collegiate, vulnerable, brave, mindful and aware of one another than we have ever been in the past, and I really do believe that this is attributed to Julie and the Dare to Lead ™ workshops. – Senior Leader in Tertiary Education
